sHOP OUR GIFT SHOP
RED Arena's Gift Shop in Dripping Springs is open 9am-6pm Monday - Thursdays and for special events like Holiday Markets some Fridays & Saturdays. The seasonal décor is handmade by our RED PROs (Powerful RED Operatives) who participate in our vocational program. There are also featured items that benefit other nonprofits and businesses owned by people with disabilities. The revenue from the gift shop supports our vocational program for adults with disabilities. Check the calendar for other days and events the gift shop is open.

the zach Young Memorial scholarship
As the sons of RED Arena Founders, Jennifer & Dave Young, Zach & Josh grew up helping at RED. From clearing rocks in the pastures, mulching trails, cleaning pens, feeding horses, side walking, horse handling, being camp buddies, recruiting friends to volunteer at Round-Up, rebuilding San Marcos and building Dripping Springs the Young Boys have been involved in every part of RED.

Growing up with the kids at RED inspired Zach to want to become a neurosurgeon and genuinely try to make a difference helping people, especially kids with neuromotor impairments. In 2021 over $100,000 was donated in memory of Zach for participant scholarships. Read more about Zach

Sponsor a therapy horse
You can show your support for your favorite therapy horse in a fun and personal way by sponsoring them for one year. The full cost to care for one horse for one year is over $10,000 including hay, supplements, medications, veterinary care, farrier services, training, routine exercise and daily care. You can donate stock directly to RED Arena and avoid paying capital gains tax.
For stock that is owned for more than one year that has gone up in value the deduction is equal to the fair market value of the stock at the time of the transfer (its increased value), and capital gains tax is not paid on the appreciated value of the stock.

Give the gift that keeps on giving with a donation in honor of someone's birthday, anniversary or a holiday. We'll send them a special RED Arena card with your message on your behalf, and send you a receipt for your tax deduction. After a screening and training trial period, horses are accepted into our program under a free lease agreement. Horses must be sound, rideable and have a gentle temperament to be considered. If you would like your horse to be considered for our program, please submit this Horse Screening Form.

Volunteer
RED Arena depends on over 300 volunteers annually. Volunteers are needed to groom and tack horses, clean stalls, walk beside our riders, lead special projects, fundraise and help at Round-Up. You can read more in the training manual and the sign up below.
No previous experience with horses or disabilities is necessary, you will be taught everything you need to know. Wherever your talents lie, there’s a place for you to help others at RED Arena.

intern with us
RED Arena has 2 levels of internship opportunities:
1. The "Equine Internship" No previous horse experience is needed. Interns will learn horse care, training & conditioning. This can be a part time or full time position. Paid position with 20+ hour weekly commitment.
2. The "PATH Instructor Certification Internship" this is a full time, fully immersive internship for PATH Instructor Certification. Individuals should already have extensive horse riding, training and instructor experience or have completed our Equine Internship. This is a full time paid position.
Interns must be honest and dedicated to their job. They must value being on-time in addition to being a self-starter. Must be open to learning our method and routine for taking care of and handling horses, care, and chores. Must be able to interact professionally with volunteers, program participants, and staff.
Benefits:
